"Our stay at the Coach House was idyllic! It is in the heart of Frome next to the gorgeous independent shops and cafes but we still felt peaceful and private." (Charlotte, London)
The Coach House is a luxury self-catering house in the heart of historic, fashionable, and vibrant Frome in Somerset. The building was constructed in about 1820 as a stable and gig house to Argyll House, previously home to Queen Victoria's daughter Louise of Argyll.
On its doorstep are independent shops, cafes, galleries, and historic buildings.
It is a perfect place for couples, romantic getaways, and solo adventurers and business people.
The Independent State of Frome
Frome is a bustling market town bursting with independent shops and cafes which enhance the creative and artisan spirit of the place. The cobbled Catherine Hill is a "must-visit" and the fabulous Cheap Street is one of the best preserved medieval streets in Europe (just around the corner from The Coach House).
On the first Sunday of the month is the Frome Independent - the market fills the town centre with artisan food, art and craft, music, fun, and a fabulous and eclectic flea market. In the Summer it is all about the Frome Festival – a week of cultural events and lots of fun!
Frome is surrounded by glorious countryside and picturesque villages; it is ideally located for Babington House, Longleat, Glastonbury, Stonehenge, Bath, and Stourhead.
THE COACH HOUSE
Stay in a beautiful, stylish and airy open plan space in which a reclaimed industrial spiral staircase forms the central feature.
Downstairs has a fully equipped kitchen, shower room, and dining space. Upstairs is fabulously cosy with a king size bed and a snug lounge space. It is all centrally heated and gorgeously toasty!
The Coach House is perfect for up to two guests but isn't suitable for young children or those with mobility issues due to the spiral staircase. It is also a pet-free house (sorry!)
